Themes Explained
Are you tired of the current look of your website? Feel like it needs a little somethin’ extra?
Sounds like it may be time for a new theme.
A theme changes the colours and layout of your website, but not the content. So any content such as focus areas, buttons, text, etc. that you currently have will be unaffected by a theme change. On the other hand, widgets will move depending on the theme you choose. That’s because widgets form the layout of your website. We'll go over that in more detail in the Part 2.
We have many themes available in our system. The great thing about the themes is that they are completely customizable. Think of them as “starting point” options – you can apply a theme that you like for the most part, and then change different aspects of it according to your preferences. For instance, you may like the Royal LePage Example theme, though you’re not with Royal LePage. You can still use the layout and colours of this theme, simply by changing anything that is branded as Royal LePage. In this example, you would need to change the header banner to a different image, free of the logo.
To check out the different theme options, log into your account and go to Website > View Themes.
You can preview each of them to see what your site will look like with the theme’s styles and layout. Remember… content is separate from the theme, so the preview will only show widgets.
