Frequency of Updating Your Blog

In the real estate industry blogs are more and more becoming an important tool in gaining new clients, attracting attention to yourself, and even help you with your search engine optimization (SEO).  When creating blogs there are some important aspects that you need to remember to make your blog successful and not an Internet flop.

One thing to remember when creating your blog is to update somewhat frequently.  Updating your blog keeps it fresh, and you will get more hits on your blog the more you update as you will develop a fan base who is excited for the next entry.  When you update your blog on a frequent basis, you keep your audience captivated in what you have to say.  When your audience is interested they will pass along links to friends and colleagues or even create a link to your blog from theirs.  For example, think of an interesting news article you read online, if you enjoyed it there is the chance that you will pass that along to a friend or co-worker who you think will also enjoy it;  the same goes for blogs.  By having links created that lead to your blog it will assist in your SEO, and make your blog much more popular and much more frequented by regular and new readers.  When updating your blog remember to keep it fresh and exciting for your readers, and don’t fall into a blogging slump.  When updating content try to write about something new every time, instead of recycling ideas, unless you are writing a series of blogs that all relate.

While it is important to update so that your blog does not become defunct on the Internet, it is also important to remember not to update too frequently when blogging.  Updating too frequently can cause lackluster content, repetition, and even perhaps mistakes in content.  Perhaps try updating only 2 or 3 times a week, unless there is some breaking news that needs to be shared with the world.  That way you still keep your content fresh and interesting for your readers.

When writing your blog it is important to do your research on a given topic.  Although this can take up some more time during your day, research is an important aspect to writing.  When you do your own research not only does it give you insight into a certain topic, but it will allow you to formulate your own unique point of view that is perhaps different from the mainstream.  Content is an important aspect when it comes to SEO, as each post needs to contain something interesting for your readers as is quality content and writing.  When you have original and interesting content you will obviously get more hits on your website which will help you with your SEO.  Consider reading other blogs about a given topic you are writing on, for example Iphone Apps.  If you find that most people have the same opinion, then perhaps consider thinking of a different opinion or angle to work off of and build your blog from thee.  While this may require a bit of research and brainstorming it will lead to an interesting blog for your readers and something different on the internet.

When writing your blog try to elicit return visitors as the more people you reach the more links and hits you will receive on your site.  By keeping it fresh, updating frequently, and doing your research you will be able to up your SEO standing and have a highly functioning blog that is not only interesting but insightful to your readers about the real estate industry.
