Pay Per Click is an Internet advertising model used with most major search engines and social networking websites. Advertisers only pay when a user clicks on an advertisement which directs the visitor to the advertiser’s website.

With search engines, advertisers typically bid on keyword phrases relevant to your target market. When a user searches a keyword matching an advertiser’s keyword list the advertisement may be displayed. Such advertisements are called a sponsored link or sponsored ad and usually appear adjacent to or above the ‘natural’ or organic results.
